Where we started from...
Web3Bridge is a developer-focused training program launched in 2019 as 500NigeriaDevs4Eth, following the 1M Ethereum Developers announcement by Joseph Lubin at Devcon V.
The initiative was inspired by a tweet from Ebunayo, articulating the immense potential of African youth when given access to tools and training to engage with global technologies like Ethereum.
Originally a fully remote initiative, Web3Bridge became hybrid in 2021 to improve retention, lower entry barriers, and foster community learning.

Right Now...
What began as a pilot has grown into a continental movement. In just six years, Web3Bridge has introduced over 4,000 Africans to Web3 through its token-gated onboarding system.
This system ensures that every participant creates and interacts with a wallet, providing first-hand experience with the Web3 ecosystem.
Of these, over 2,500 have been trained as developers, and 305 have graduated after passing a series of rigorous eviction tests throughout the program.
Web3Bridge has run twelve (12) successful solidity cohorts, offered training in Zero Knowledge (ZK), Cairo, Cartesi, Rust, and more, reaching developers from seven African countries.
In 2024, Web3Bridge began flying in developers from across Africa to its Lagos campus to foster cross-cultural collaboration, hosting developers from Kenya, Uganda, and Ghana, with plans to include more countries in subsequent cohorts.

Where We are Headed...
What started with a 30-developer live-in space has scaled to housing 200 developers across three facilities.
In 2025, Web3Bridge completed and officially opened its Developer Hub (named Web3bridge Garage with support from Lisk) a multi-functional learning and co-working space dedicated to deep, uninterrupted developer training.
Recently, we opened the Ethereum Hub sponsored by @EFetheverywhere to builders, creatives, and thinkers. Free internet. Free power. Real community. Now it’s your turn to build and believe in somETHing.
